In the midst of the unspoiled nature of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, halfway between Florence and Bologna, Second Life Feathers was born.

A new way of looking at the feather; lightness that becomes even lighter, the fringe that becomes yarn. The know-how acquired is the result of research implemented in synergy with Galeottipiume, a company that has been a leader in feather processing in the luxury sector for years.

Second Life Feathers (SLF) is an innovative startup born out of a desire to bring feathers into contexts different from those we are used to seeing them.

To do so required an extensive research process. SLF is located in Firenzuola, in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. It operates in partnership with Galeottipiume, a company that has been a leader in the luxury down accessories sector for years and has always been attentive to the canons of sustainability. The know-how acquired is the result of research implemented in synergy between these two companies, which began in the lockdown months.

The context into which SLF is bringing feather is the world of yarns, then the world of knitting and weaving, an environment in which feathers have never taken much ground. Feathers have traditionally been identified in entirely different kinds of creations: bangs and boas, small bonding work with smaller, stiffer feathers, small accessories….
